Get help with the bits
that make your website sell

Every page on your site has a job. Some pages build trust, some help people choose, some answer the “yeah but…” questions, and some get people to buy. Our website copywriting services help you pin down your messaging, map it out across your site and give you pages ready for dev.

Voice of customer research

We start with diving deep into what your customers say, ask, worry about, and compare you to.

Reviews, FAQs, support tickets, competitor pages… everything.

That way we’re not guessing what might convince someone to hit buy now.

Clear positioning + USP stack

We turn all of that research into a clear story: what you do, who it’s for, why you’re different, and why you’re worth choosing (or paying more for).

Once that’s signed off (by you), we use that as our true north. That way, sign off is easier and the copy all sends the same message.

Brand voice that sounds like you

If you don’t have a clear voice yet, we pin down how you sound when you’re at your best. Tone, rules, do/don’ts, and the little language choices that make your brand stand out.

That way, you end up with a website that your customers remember and come back to.

Website messaging map

Before we write loads of pages, we map the message across the journey.

We plan out what goes on the homepage, collection pages, PDPs, FAQs.

That way, the whole site feels thought out and guides the customer towards buying.

All pages written + ready

Then we get our heads down and write the pages that bring it all to life — using the research, the message map and the voice we’ve just nailed. We’ll share drafts as we go, sanity-check them with you, and tighten everything up step by step, so it’s ready to ship (and feels unmistakably you).

Ready for design & dev

We don’t just hand you a Word doc and wish you luck. Wherever possible, we build the work in Figma, so your designer/dev has something easy to work from.

Plus, you’ll get clear notes on what changed (and why) and ongoing support through build incase there’s any tweaks or changes needed to fit your theme.

Website
copywriting
services for
ambitious brands

We’ve been writing ecommerce copy for 25+ years between us, and one thing’s consistent: projects don’t need to take forever to be good. In fact, when they drag on, the work usually gets blander, not better. That’s why we run website copywriting sprints.

Every sprint includes: VOC/message mining + clear message hierarchy + in-context handover (Figma/docs) + tidy sign-off.

1 week website sprint

For smaller sites (or one hero product) that need the website to catch up fast.

We tighten the message, sharpen the proof, and rewrite the bits doing the heavy lifting so customers get it quickly and feel confident buying — without turning this into a month-long project.

1 week sprint: £2500.

4 week website sprint

For bigger catalogues, multiple offers, or when you want to properly nail voice + messaging before rolling it out.

We build the foundations (positioning, voice, message map), then bring it to life across the key journeys — so the site feels joined-up everywhere, not stitched together.

Full sprint: £10,000

“Sales are way up, really helped us nail who we are as a brand.”

“Working with Jack and Joe has been an absolute game-changer for us. Not only are our sales way up, but they really helped us nail who we are as a brand, how we should sound (to customers and in retail decks) and gave us a brand voice & messaging playbook that our whole team have used to make everything we do unified and on-brand.

The whole thing was hugely transformational for us as a brand. Highly recommend.”

“We’re about to kick off a DTC glow-up. The copy on our site was inconsistent and our PDPs were a bit all over the place. We knew we could do more to clearly communicate our USPs.

As a small team, we wanted some external support to kick-start a redesign of our hero product PDP. Jack and Joe were mind readers. They quickly spotted the real customer pain points and reshaped the page in a way that was clear, focused and exactly what we’d hoped for.

It’s given us everything we need to brief our developer and designer. I’m very keen to work with Do Words Good again on future projects.”

“They really understood the Animal ToV and brand straight away, so much so we asked them to create an internal document for circulation. Not only is the copy always great, the turnaround times were really fast and they instantly become part of the team. Highly recommend.”

“We've been working on a lot of projects and use AI for copywriting religiously. The work Do Words Good do is just on another level compared to anything we've been able to generate with AI, even using "high performance" prompts. AI can’t get close to the human touch or intelligence they bring to everything they do. So glad I reached out for this project.”

FAQs

What does a website copywriter actually do?

In everyday terms: we make your site easier to understand… so it’s easier to buy from.

That means sorting your message out (what you sell, who it’s for, why you), then writing the pages that do the heavy lifting: homepage, key collections, top PDPs, “why us”, FAQs, offers.

It’s part writing, part “stop burying the good stuff three scrolls down”.

Which pages do you usually tackle first?

We start where the money is.

Usually that’s your hero PDP(s), the collections that feed them, the landing pages you send paid/social/email traffic to, and your homepage positioning so the rest of the site has a backbone.

If something’s leaking, we’ll go straight to the leakiest bit first.

Do you rewrite from scratch, or tidy up what we’ve already got?

Depends what we’re working with.

If the bones are good, we’ll keep what’s working and sharpen what’s not (usually the order, the proof, and the “yeah but…” bits).

If it’s vague, messy, or trying to say 12 things at once, we’ll rebuild it so it actually reads like one clear thought.

What do you need from us to get going?

Context helps, but we’re not going to ask you for a 40-slide deck.

Best case: reviews, objections, support tickets, customer research, competitors you get compared to, and any claims you can prove (plus analytics/heatmaps if you’ve got them).

But we don't need all of that. If you've just got “here’s what we sell, here’s who it’s for, here’s what’s not working”. We can work with that.

Do you need access to Shopify / our CMS?

Nope.

We normally work in Figma and rebuild your key pages so you can see the structure and the copy in context.

If you want us to hop into the CMS and plug it in, we can but it’s not a must.

Can you match our brand voice (or help us find one)?

Yep!

If you’ve already got a voice, we’ll tune into it and make it consistent across pages (so the homepage doesn’t sound like one brand and the PDP sounds like another).

If your voice is currently “a few versions of you”, we’ll help you pin down simple rules your team can actually use.

How do you do SEO without making it sound… SEO-y?

We don’t do “keyword salad”.

We’ll use the important terms where they belong (titles, headings, key sections), but the priority is still clarity and conversion.

If a keyword forces a clunky sentence, we’ll find a cleaner way to work it in without turning your site into 2014 internet.

Roughly what does website copywriting cost?

It comes down to how many pages you need, and whether we’re doing a quick catch-up or rebuilding the foundations.

Most brands end up in one of three buckets: a 1-week sprint, the 2-week sprint (most common), or the 4-week sprint if you’ve got loads going on.

After a call, we’ll tell you the simplest route and send a clear plan + price. No “we’ll come back with a bespoke proposal in two weeks”.

Can we pay by card, and can you split payments?

Yep, corporate cards are fine (including Amex).

And if splitting payments makes cashflow easier, we can usually do that too. Just tell us what you need.

Can you guarantee results?

We can’t promise “+X% in Y days” because there are too many moving parts (traffic quality, offer, pricing, creative, site speed, stock… all of it).

What we can promise: clearer positioning, tighter message hierarchy, stronger proof, and fewer “wait, what?” moments on the path to checkout.

And if we think copy isn’t the real blocker, we’ll tell you that too.
